There are so many wondrous literary novels, in the atmosphere, however some are on their own levels.
‘The Island of Dr. Moreau’ by H.G. Wells. This book is about a man that becomes shipwrecked on a desert island in the Pacific. He discovers rather dastardly, dark secrets on the Island, and tries to escape the madness. Mr. Wells has said of this masterpiece, he was trying to deliver a commentary on tampering with evolution, divine creation and the tension between human nature and culture. The Pulitzer Prize winning ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’ by Harper Lee is a powerhouse of a novel.Reportedly it is the most widely read book that deals with race in America. The plot line takes place in the ‘Deep South’ during the ‘Great Depression’. A character in the book Atticus Finch, is seen as a moral hero of sorts. Atticus a lawyer, decides to take the unpopular position of defending a black man accused of raping a white woman. ‘Little Women’ by Louisa May Alcott, is about a woman named Jo and her three sisters, Meg, Amy, and Beth.
